Personal Brand

Personal branding for job seekers

Applying is push; being found is pull. Recruiters search LinkedIn and the open web for people before they ever post a role, and the candidates who come up in those searches skip the queue entirely. A personal brand is simply making sure you are one of them, in words that are true.

This category covers the practical side: writing a LinkedIn headline and About section around the terms recruiters actually search, choosing what to feature, posting about your work without it reading like self-promotion, and turning past projects into short case studies that show how you think. It also covers the opposite risk — over-claiming — and why specific, verifiable detail beats adjectives every time.

The aim is a profile that does some of the job search for you while you sleep, built from your real experience rather than a template everyone else is using.
